Magdoline was born in a small town located on the West Bank of the Nile and moved to Abu Dhabi as a young girl. As a teen, she spent her summers in Egypt and traveling through Europe.
Magdoline studied in England and at the age of 20 immigrated to Canada and embraced the Canadian culture and overcame much adversity.
Magdoline describes her life as a rose; each petal represents a significant part of her heritage, culture, family, and life experiences. Her artwork is influenced by each one of those rose petals. Drawn to her upbringing in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the scents of oud and amber and the brilliant colours of the desert profoundly influence and inspire her creativity.
Empowering & Passionate
In 2016, Magdoline was inspired to create art as a form of self-expression, self-reflection, and meditation. Magdoline has always had the heart of an artist, her work is reflective of a deep heritage in spirit and she is inspired by the idea of empowered and passionate women.
A study of her work reveals the true nature of love, faith, and purpose. Looking at her work, one immediately recognizes the emotional aspects of her bold use of colour and vivid imagery.
Once she has emptied her soul onto the canvas, what has been created is an elegant, graceful painting. "My art is an authentic expression of who I am,” she says.
Magdoline connects to the canvas physically, the colours emotionally, the image spiritually and each moment musically as she dances with the canvas.
